OSHA Training South Jersey

What is OSHA Training?

Providing a safe workplace should be the first thought for every employer. Yet, most businesses fail to even understand the safety standards they need to abide by. That is why the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was created. It sets the standard for safe and healthy working conditions that both employees and employers must follow.

At SJ Technical School, we are an OSHA-authorized training site. Our OSHA training programs are designed to provide training for both students and professionals, making sure everyone in the workforce understands the current work safety protocols. It is just as important for those entering the workforce to understand these standards as it is for current employees.

Our OSHA training programs are included in our electrician classes and provide training that covers information from all relevant sources, including OSHA, workers’ rights and employee responsibilities. This gives students entering the workforce a well-rounded understanding of how to navigate the workforce to ensure they are successful and safe.

OSHA Training Program Options

At SJ Technical Training, we offer two different OSHA Training programs. Each program focuses on safety training, but the courses are each designed for a specific employee level: entry-level employees (OSHA 10 Certification) and supervisors (OSHA 30 Certification).

OSHA 10 Certification Training

The OSHA 10 Certification Training is designed for entry level workers. It is a 10-hour program that focuses on teaching students the standards for safety in the workplace, as well as their role in upholding these standards. The end goal of the OSHA 10 Certification Training is to develop a respect for the workplace for those entering the workforce.

OSHA 30 Certification Training

This 30-hour training program is designed for employees in a supervisor or management role. The OSHA 30 Certification Training is a more robust program that goes into more detail. The extra training focuses more on prevention, rather than simply the safety standards. Whole entry level employees should know the safety standards to avoid making the workplace unsafe, supervisors need to know how to create a workplace that is safe. This extra training will ensure the workplace is free of potential hazards by identifying them before they cause any problems.
